In 2012 I started thinking about a small fantasy comic. It started as a little 8-12 page short story comic, about a young boy on an epic journey. Then It grew... and grew, and eventually a thought hit me. To take that story, and several other stories I had kicking around in my head and drop them into one big fantasy world. I began to build an entire realm up from scratch, filling it with various races, cultures, magic, and mysteries. That short 8-12 page story turned into 15-18 chapters.
As I close in on the debut of my home brewed fantasy realm, I figured I would start making project updates. Let everyone know my progress, in both the first graphic novel as well as the One-shots that will be releasing. Every time I finish laying out a chapter, or have something big to announce, or if I just feel some history of the world should be revealed, I will post an update.
The first major comic, the one with a young boy, is well underway. The story is written out, and I am currently sketching out rough page layouts. At the moment I am in the middle of chapter eight. Once the chapters are laid out, I will be refining and editing dialog. Then moving into the final stages of creating the actual pages. I am also working on the first One-shot comic, which I will start doing final line work within the next week.
Since the major comic will take some time to get out the door, I've planned to make some One-shots. Short stories within the world that standalone, but with the potential to tie in loosely with the main series. These One-shot comics will help introduce and establish the world itself. But that's not their only purpose, they will also be helping me hone my drawing and layout skills. These One-shots will be up for sale, in order to help fund the main comic series. Perhaps most of all they will help support me, and this fantasy comic project both in spirit and in coin.
Welcome to Project Kazzralohr, a series of graphic novels set in an expansive and rich fantasy world.
